#FREETHENIPPLE

So today I made a boob cushion.

A few months ago I had the epiphany that my art and everyday life should start to go hand in hand, as everything felt so disjointed and I basically hated going to uni. To cut a long and dull story short I have begun making art exploring modern day feminism and what it is like to be a sassy 21st century woman. I've looked to social media and my highly skilled ears to draw inspiration from. And today I turned a heart shaped pillow into a pair of boobs with pom-pom nips.I wouldn't like to say what my tutors are going to think of this, but either way I think I have found my niche. Also check out the Free the Nipple campaign here. It's really good cause to get behind and hopefully we'll see some changes in a more equal system of censorship and legal rights for all women to breast feed in public!

Spring is coming...eventually.

One of my little goals for 2015 is to put a bit more time, effort and unfortunately money, into my wardrobe. I have spent too long in my younger sister's hand me downs ups? So I put together a February wish list, as I dream of days with no snow, ice or bitter winds...

  1.  Daisy Print Shirt Dress - Topshop (£55)
  1. Flatform Loafers - Truffle (£32 £22)
  1. Velvetine Lip Colour in Wicked - Lime Crime (approx £13)
  1. Unicorn Clutch Bag - The White Pepper (£40 - £24)
  1. Insect Sweater - H&M (£24.99 - £12)
  1. PETITE Joni Jeans in Dark Vintage - Topshop (£36)
For now however, I think I'll stick to my thermal vests, squeeky DMs and knitwear collection.

So for the first time in ages I did nothing for a whole evening and I didn't even feel bad about it. It's really important to take a bit of time out of your week to collect your thoughts and look after yourself. I can't say I am the best spokes person for this idea, but I have bought loads of vegetables and started reading for recreational purposes so I'd say that's the step in the right direction...

After 2 weeks of solid dissertation writing, crying and eating noodles, I figured it was time to give at least my nails some TLC. These are the 3 latest editions to my nail varnish collection. I used to swear by Barry M's nail paint but now I have converted to Rimmel. It's got a nice consistency and although you need to give it a bit more than 60 seconds, it's pretty fast drying. In the (really shoddy) photo I'm wearing 'Mary Mary Quite Contrary' with the 'Pop Art Topcoat', which I think is amazing, I mean multi-coloured polka-dots with no hair clips or bed sheets ruined!

In addition to the loving I have given my nails, I am also going to give guilt free, recreational reading a go, as there is only so much 90210 my brain can handle in one sitting. I have massively anticipated Lena Dunham's 'bestseller', however it has managed to remain unopened on my bedside table for 3 months. So I am off to finally start the book of one of the coolest ladies the 2010s has given us. I guess we'll see if I can articulate some sort of review when I get to the end.
